Some Events Over Time from Around the East
Just before we moved west, actually the day before the packers came, we were fortunate to be able to attend Alan's promotion ceremony. It was held in the pentagon in the Hall of Heroes, a most appropriate location since Alan's great-great-grandfather Thomas Hall Forsyth is one of the Congressional Medal of Honor heroes honored there. On the left in the Hall of Heroes you see Jeff, Dru, Alan, Dave and Maryjo.Following the ceremony, family and friends joined Alan and Maryjo in a dinner celebration. Below left is Maryjo with her mom and dad. On the right is Jeff, Maryjo's sisters and Dru. It was indeed a magnificent day and a crowning achievement for a most deserving individual.
Almost a year earlier when Frank came east for a visit, Alan & Maryjo hosted us all for dinner. The pictures below were taken at that time. On the left is Frank, Alan and Dru. On the right is Maryjo's parents, Maryjo and Alan. It was a most enjoyable family time together.
Since we are headed back in time, we might as well go waaay back to about 1970 or so to an airshow at then NAS Miramar. Below left is Chris, Jeff and Alan strolling and rolling among the airplanes. And on the right is the steely-eyed would-be fighter pilot trying the cockpit and helment on for size.
