The area along the lake in the vicinity of the Summer Palace is a popular location for family outings. Not only did this gentleman pause and proudly pose with his son for my camera, but afterwards he sent the boy to pose with me so he could take our picture together. He was as interested in us as we were in him and his family.

As we left the Summer Palace area, I had paused to take a photo of this lady and her son. The man, who turned out to be her brother, came rushing over to add his son to the photo opt! Although he had never been to the United States, he spoke English and enjoyed talking with us as we did with him.
